António’s major theme in India is the result of the cumulative process of visiting the country several times. Before each departure to India he meticulously plans where to go to take his images of ordinary people in the street.
This series presents people’s habits, culture and way of living. He does not purposefully seek out any particular socio-economic group or attempt to emphasize any cultural similarity with his culture in Portugal. It is a case of truly representing Indians as they are and honing in on their differences.
António plans another trip to the same country, but this time his challenge will be to capture images from a different perspective. He finds that the more you travel to a place, the more there is to explore and capture on camera.
