DEGRADAÇÃO URBANA
A existência humana deixa no planeta vestígios, traços incontornáveis e irreversíveis que se perpetuam pelos tempos. O Homem sempre desempenhou um papel fundamental nos modelos de desenvolvimento e na evolução do Mundo e das sociedade onde se integra e às quais pertence.
Desde tempos longínquos que deixou a sua marca artística sobre suportes, nem sempre de grande longevidade e que se constituem hoje como herança da Humanidade. Os intervenientes ao longo da História viram a sua memória preservada pela representação artística e assim garantida a sua existência virtual para longos tempos.
Com base nesta ideia abrangente, julguei ser interessante definir um trabalho fotográfico cujo objectivo é construir uma colecção que fará parte do património contemporâneo de registos de Arquitectura, espaços, áreas urbanas onde a intervenção do ser Humano deixou marcas perenes e indeléveis da sua presença e passagem.
A globalização impôs à sociedade e à portuguesa em particular um estilo de vida que obrigou a mudanças radicais e cujo resultado nem sempre foi positivo. O abandono de habitações outrora pulsantes de Vida é uma realidade deprimente que aqui se tenta registar.
URBAN DECAY
Human existence on the planet leaves unavoidable and irreversible traces. Homo sapiens have been responsible for the evolving change in the world’s evolution and development. Fortunately, since the beginning of recorded history, art has preserved the actions and memories of our ancestors. Many of these iconographic symbols and art forms collectively represent a cosmic vision of human existence.
Based on this broad idea, Antonio thought it would be interesting to define a photographic work whose aim would be to build a collection based on the heritage of contemporary architecture, spaces and urban areas where the intervention of the Human Being left in the past strong marks of his presence and transit.
Globalization is being imposed over society and to Portuguese one in particular, a change that forced to radical shifts not always with positive results. Abandonment of housing once full of Life is a depressing reality that he tries to register here as the remains left behind an Human occupation.
